Studiengebühren gehen alle an! – und gehören abgeschafft!
Press release Linke.SDS The university group at the University of Hamburg
The fight for free education is not one for the purse of the students. It is an open struggle for social emancipation and education, can participate in the all parts of society. Tuition fees are symbolic of social division and marketisation in the education system. We call on the factions in the State Parliament to vote in the citizenship meeting on 15.12.2010 for the abolition of tuition fees. We shall press for the politicians to come on this issue is not over.
But that is not done. The education system in the Federal Republic of Germany is under-funded for years. This is the result of conscious, political decisions on the use of available financial resources. We can change this now!
We demand the abolition of the policy of recent years has advanced the commercialization of education and many other areas of life. We demand the immediate abolition of tuition fees, as an essential part of the implementation of a socially open education system. We call for a needs-based funding of education from public funds, as a cornerstone for the development of critical, free and at peace-oriented education.
We fight for the free tuition of the entire education system, including day-care center fees and book allowance should be abolished. The participation in education should not depend on the wallet!
"With the Abolition of tuition fees, we throw back the stones that we were placed as a motion for a classical education in the way. "Said Franziska Hildebrandt from the Linke.SDS The university group at the University of Hamburg.
We call on 16.12. in the demonstration "Culture for all - money is enough there" to participate. Here students will work together with social initiatives, associations and cultural workers against anti-social distribution of social wealth from the bottom up to the streets. We want to set an example for the positive development of the society for the betterment of all!
